Founders Derek and Kelli Shaw aren't new to the high-stakes world of property and logistics. Before launching Rescue Packout, they built Moving Proz from a weekend side-gig into a decorated industry leader.

Voted the #1 Moving Company in Kansas City and ranked as the #4 fastest-growing company in Kansas on the Inc. 5000, their first venture set the bar for what customer service should look like. But they realized that when disaster strikes—fire, flood, or storm—families need more than just a mover. They need a "Rescue" team.

Rescue Packout was born from that realization: a specialized startup designed to save the items that make a house a home.

Derek Shaw | Founder

“I believe that people should be better for having known you, and I live every day with that in mind.” A former quarterback at Arizona State University, Derek brings the discipline and leadership of a high-level athlete to the world of entrepreneurship. After transforming a local moving project into a multi-city powerhouse, Derek now splits his focus between the strategic growth of Rescue Packout and leading Hyre, an AI-empowered global staffing firm. His mission is simple: elevate every organization he touches through resilience, technology, and an unwavering commitment to service.

Kelli Shaw | Co-Founder & CEO

“Building something meaningful from the ground up is about more than logistics—it’s about community impact.” Originally from Guam, Kelli traveled from the Pacific to Southern California, where she built a successful career as a graphic designer before joining forces with Derek in 2018. As the CEO and creative heartbeat of the organization, Kelli transformed Moving Proz into a proud SBA-certified minority woman-owned leader. At Rescue Packout, she ensures that every "Rescue" mission is handled with the same creative precision and empowering leadership that earned her previous ventures national acclaim.
